  • Hi Dear This is Sandeep Kumar Punia
Today I want to Share my feelings with my readers belongs to my place "Kurukshetra, Haryana"....

    History
The name Kurukshetra is associated in the Puranas and the Great Epic with the legendary king Kuru although it appears to be more logical to trace it to the tribe of Kurus which was born as a result of merger of the various classes of the Great Bharatas who are described in the Rigveda as kindling sacrificial fires on the banks of the sacred Sarasvati and Drishadvati......

The Sarasvati is described in the Rigveda as a perennial river par excellence, flowing from the Himalayas to the ocean most probably it refers to the Ghaggar. The Drishadvati was the river in whose bed the Hansi-Hisar branch of the Western Yamuna Canal now flows. The Kurus also were known to the Rigveda as the mention of a King named Kurushravana indicates.

It is Pipli ( Kurukshetra Enter Gate) Situated on national highway.  In Pipli all of bus (including Delhi) stop. The Kurukshetra 4 KM so far from Pipli.....

Any auto from Pipli takes Rs 10/- to Kurukshetra.

Here We are on Brahma Sarovar situated in Kurukshetra the Holy City of Haryana and 6 KM so far from Pipli.

Lord Brahma created the universe from the land of Kurukshetra.  The Brahma Sarovar here is believed to be cradle of civilization.
Brahma Sarovar is a water tank in Thanesar, Kurukshetr sacred to the Dharmic Religions

Here we are on Bhishma Kund in Kurukshetra.

Bhishma Kund at Naraktari is the place where Arjuna shot an arrow towards earth to quench Bhisma Pitamah thirst.

Here we are on Jyotisar, the imporatant place of Kurukshetra. It has a 5000 year old tree of Bargad.
Jyotisar is a town on the Kurukshetra-Pehowa road, 5 km west of Thanesar in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana. 'Jyoti' means light and 'Sar' means the core meaning. Hence the name of place is a reference to the 'core meaning of light' or ultimately of God. It is one of the most revered holy sites of the holy city of Kurukshetra. A Vat (Banyan tree) stands on a raised plinth. Local traditions say that this tree is an offshoot of the holy Banyan tree under which Lord Krishna delivered the sermon of Bhagavad Gita, the doctrine of Karma and Dharma to his wavering friend Arjuna. It is here that He showed his Virat rupa (Universal form), the terrifying image of Himself as the Destroyer God. A light and music show is organized by the tourism department at the site, on a regular basis, which recreates episodes from Mahabharta.
